What is EFT?

EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Techniques, commonly referred to as “tapping.” EFT uses elements of Cognitive Therapy and Exposure Therapy. These are combined with Acupressure, in the form of fingertip tapping on meridian end points. The theory behind acupuncture is that our body’s energy flows in twelve channels called meridians. When that energy is blocked, physical or psychological distress occurs. Within EFT, you tap these endpoints using your fingertips. Tap with 2-3 fingers approximately 7 times to ensure activation of an acupressure point. Tapping helps you to reduce stress. Studies have shown that Tapping decreases cortisol (often called the stress hormone) in your body. This is because stress is linked to anxiety, weight gain, sleep problems, lack of motivation, chronic pain, stomach issues, and depression. Tapping is proven to reduce stress, lower cortisol, improve sleep, reduce anxiety, relieve pain, increase productivity, and so much more!

How Does EFT Work?

EFT incorporates the understanding of Eastern medicine that our emotional and physical imbalances are created by disruptions in our Chi or energy system. These imbalances are largely created by subconscious core beliefs that tell us we do not deserve to be happy, well and at peace. EFT works to restore balance within the energy system by engaging the mind and body in sending new information to the subconscious by pairing positive cognition with the stimulation of key acupuncture points. We release our limiting beliefs and false notions by identifying early wounds and traumas and then dismantling and neutralizing them so that they no longer have power over us. At the same time, we are providing our minds and bodies with new information that will promote our overall healing and return to balance.

Are There Any Side Effects of EFT?

EFT is designated as a “generally safe treatment” and side effects are rare. EFT works on any negative emotion such as anger, anxiety, uneasiness, fear, and sadness, resulting from a trauma, some pain, or a limiting belief. The process requires that some past events are remembered, for the purpose of healing. It is this exposure that allows the process to work. Tuning into these feelings can be discomforting, especially when not working with a certified practitioner. Most EFT participants feel a great sense of relief, calm, and increased happiness.

What Happens in a Private Coaching Session?

While no two clients (or situations) are the same, I have developed a session framework that helps guide people into their specific concerns and the issues, dives deeper into the source and be able to dismantle and create possibilities or experience renewal. · Sharing and Checking-in Here I enable you to share the area of concern with as much detail as possible, in the manner that’s most comfortable to you. Here, I would guide you through short breathing meditation to go deeper and align your thoughts, emotions, and feelings to bring all your energy to the session. · Navigate and Discover Using a diversified set of energy tools, I enable you to work through your issue. This is where you begin to inquire about what is missing in yourself rather than in the world out there. · Reinvent and Completion When “What is Missing” is identified, discovered, or felt by you, we move up to the next inquiry, “What is Possible?” Once it is discovered by you, we work together to define the set of actions, including a means of holding yourself accountable. The pathway to complete the session is the experience shared by you and what’s your takeaway from the session.
